Blue Marlin Arrives In Portland

On Sunday 24th August, North America’s largest floating dry-dock made its way from Singapore up the Willamette River on route to Portland, Oregon. This lucrative cargo was aboard the Dockwise Blue Marlin vessel. The dry-dock, known as Vigorous, was destined for the Vigor Industrial shipyard, Portland. Once assembled the dry-dock will have 80,000-tons of capacity and will measure a stunning 960-feet, which is more than three times the height of the Statue of Liberty. This monumental event achieved impressive coverage in both the local media and online.

The Myriad Global Media video production team were on hand to film this incredible journey, which involved negotiating low hanging bridges including the Astoria-Megler and St. Johns Bridge. Using a combination of aerial drone filming, filming from smaller boats around the vessel and various locations on the ground will provide the audience with a film that is varied and rich in visual content. We look forward to showing Dockwise the final production.
