Two short films produced by Myriad Global Media for Maersk Oil and Qatar Petroleum (QP) have received international recognition, scooping top awards at this year's WorldFest in Houston and World Media Festival in Hamburg.
WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, now in its 44th year, is the oldest independent film and video festival in the world, while the World Media Festival is an international competition for audiovisual communications media, founded in 2000.

Myriad Global Media’s managing director James Thompson was on hand to pick up six awards at WorldFest 2011 following on from the success of Worldfest 2010 where Myriad received five awards. Myriad made a clean sweep in the Energy / Nuclear Issues category taking all the top awards with First Oil Ghana’s Jubilee picking up the Special Jury Award; a Platinum Award for The Challenge of Al Shaheen; a Gold Award for Setting a New Standard and a Silver Award for A Firm Foundation.

In May 2010, in preparation for the documentary created for Maersk Oil in Qatar, shown at the ADIPEC conference in Abu Dhabi, The Challenges of Al Shaheen, Myriad’s Managing Director James Thompson interviewed His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Qatar’s Energy and Industry Minister. James also spoke to Saad Al Kaabi, the Director of Oil and Gas Ventures at Qatar Petroleum. The documentary film of Qatar’s offshore field, Al Shaheen: Setting a New Standard, is featured on the Video Production page of Myriad’s site.

In September MGM created films for Afren to show case their Ebok and Okoro field developments, offshore Nigeria to the investment community during their quarterly results presentation. We won’t claim all the credit but their share price seemed to reflect a general satisfaction with the presentation.

When the Nexen Golden Eagle Project team needed a new logo for their project development in the UK sector of the North Sea, Myriad Global Media was asked to deliver a series of logos and a brand identity guide for the operator, Nexen, that could be applied across multiple platforms including print, project items, the web, TV and project gifts.
