April 2011 marked a first for Myriad Global Media and industry-publication Offshore. The documentary film First Oil Ghana’s Jubilee produced for Tullow Oil by Myriad Global Media was cover mounted on Offshore’s OTC preview issue, the first time Offshore had had a cover mounted feature in it’s 56-year history. Over 40,000 copies were printed and distributed to oil and gas professionals worldwide.

Myriad Global Media has recently opened a dedicated office in Abu Dhabi to serve the GCC and Middle East region. The new company is based in the city's creative hub – TwoFour54 – that offers a wide variety of support services to enable better client servicing. 

This investment in the region reflects the increasing volume of work that MGM is undertaking in the Middle East for clients such as ZADCO, Dubai Airports, Mubadala, ADNATCO&NGSCO, PetroChina, ADMA-OPCO, Maersk Oil Qatar and PDO among others.

Time-lapse photography is not a new technique, having first appeared in a feature film in French film pioneer George Méliès’ Carrefour De L’Opera in 1897, however Myriad Global Media’s latest time-lapse required a state-of-the-art set up to cope with challenging conditions in Pori, Western Finland.

Anadarko have been slowly loading out the 23,000-ton Lucius truss spar towards the vessel waiting to transport it to the Gulf of Mexico for a month, and Myriad Global Media have been capturing every inch of the action.

Since being selected in late 2012  to produce Dubai Airports' Interactive HSE E-Learning tool, Myriad Global Media have immersed themselves in pre-production writing scripts, drafting interface design and creating animatics.

Now close to landing approval on scripts and interface design (work in progress above subject to change), Myriad is gearing up for a shooting period at Dubai Airport in early June.

Myriad Media surpassed all expectations eclipsing 2010 & 2011’s award count with a phenomenal fifteen awards at the 2013 WorldFest International Film Festival held in Houston, Texas. Myriad Media is in good company at the WorldFest International Film Festival, now in its 46^th year, whose list of previous winners include film greats Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Ang Lee.

Of the Fifteen awards, Myriad took home 6 Platinum Remi Awards, the highest award available at the festival. Myriad’s remaining 9 awards were podium finishes with 5 Gold Remi Awards, 3 Silver Remi Awards and a Bronze Remi Award completing an exceptional haul.

Myriad Global Media are delighted  to announce that they has been selected by Dubai Airports to develop an interactive HSSE e-learning tool that will be integrated into the company’s Learning Management System.

The e-learning interactive, created by Myriad, will be innovative in its approach in order to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and will feature animation, video, graphics, games and various testing modules to achieve a step-change in employee behaviour around HSSE compliance. 

2012 marks the 50^th Anniversary of The Club, Abu Dhabi’s most established private Member’s Club. This anniversary celebrates a milestone that makes The Club, founded in 1962, actually older than the United Arab Emirates itself. 

Myriad Global Media are excited to announce that three films produced by the team and shot across the Middle East have been chosen to represent ground breaking Oil and Gas projects and initiatives in the ADIPEC excellence in energy awards.

Myriad is now fast approaching the delivery of the exciting Whale Sharks documentary that began filming in June this year in the Qatari waters of the Arabian gulf.  

Golden Eagle Taking Flight: A film currently in the final stages of production at Myriad Global Media documents the next phase of development of Nexen’s Golden Eagle. This short, engaging video will be used by Nexen to motivate key members of the project team. It will also inform partners, investors, contractors and other key stakeholders involved with Golden Eagle.

Over the last year Myriad Global Media has been delivering a wide range of high quality HSE inductions for a range of facilities including offshore platforms, onshore plants and offshore wind farms. Work includes a range of inductions for RWE Dea (UK) for the new Clipper South and Breagh gas platforms for manned and unmanned operation.

In Qatar, Myriad Global Media are working with the Maersk Oil Research and Technology Centre (MO-RTC) in support of the Ministry of Environment’s Whale Shark Research Project. This week a team of researchers travelled offshore, accompanied by world-class underwater camera teams, in search of the world’s largest fish!  

Early in 2011, high winds in the North Sea caused four of the Gryphon FPSO's ten mooring lines to break, and the vessel began to drift off its station... both the FPSO and the subsea development were seriously damaged. Myriad Global Media are documenting the Gryphon's momentous return to productive life.

Two short films produced by Myriad Global Media for Maersk Oil and Qatar Petroleum (QP) have received international recognition, scooping top awards at this year's WorldFest in Houston and World Media Festival in Hamburg.

WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, now in its 44th year, is the oldest independent film and video festival in the world, while the World Media Festival is an international competition for audiovisual communications media, founded in 2000.

Myriad Global Media’s managing director James Thompson was on hand to pick up six awards at WorldFest 2011 following on from the success of Worldfest 2010 where Myriad received five awards. Myriad made a clean sweep in the Energy / Nuclear Issues category taking all the top awards with First Oil Ghana’s Jubilee picking up the Special Jury Award; a Platinum Award for The Challenge of Al Shaheen; a Gold Award for Setting a New Standard and a Silver Award for A Firm Foundation.
