Britannia Installation 9

The Britannia project developed one of the largest undeveloped gas fields in the UK North Sea. Myriad Global Media undertook a wide range of work for the Britannia Project team including the production of regular progress update films. Britannia 9, the penultimate in the series, focuses on the difficulties involved with transporting 400,000 tonnes of hardware and assembling it on site in the middle of the North Sea. The film’s intention was to show 5000 Britannia employees the culmination of a 3-year project and the extent of their own individual achievements, whilst still capturing the drama and scale associated with large engineering projects. Myriad Global Media worked alongside the BBC during the load-out and installation phase to produce a 51-minute documentary film, “Rule Britannia” that was screened on BBC 1 as part of the Mission series.
