Southwark Cathedral – Working on one of London’s oldest locations
Client
Southwark Cathedral
Background
With access to funding from the Lottery to celebrate the Millennium, Myriad tendered against over 30 Companies for the right to design and develop an innovative multi-media exhibition for Southwark Cathedral in London. After a gruelling bid process, Myriad was awarded the contract.

The solution
Myriad undertook every aspect of the project, from initial concept through to installation, commissioning and training over a 24-month period. The theme we came up with for the museum was “the Long View of London”. This was inspired by artist Wenceslaus Hollar’s famous panorama of medieval London, executed from the Tower at Southwark Cathedral in 1638.
The exhibition was formally opened to the public by Nelson Mandela in April 2001.
