Safety and behavior change

Making the safety induction stick?

Making the safety induction stick?

Most safety communication is seen and forgotten. We make the message land and stick, so it changes what people actually do the moment risk shows up.

The problem.

Every operator has the posters, the inductions and the toolbox talks. And still the same incidents recur. The problem was never a shortage of information. It is that information, on its own, does not change behavior. People tune out the familiar, take the shortcut under pressure, and forget the briefing by the time it matters.

Behavior is stubborn for good reasons. Habits form under real conditions, deadlines, fatigue, the pull of the quicker way, and a video watched in a training room has to compete with all of that at the moment of risk. Most of it does not.

Changing what someone does on a live site, at 2am, under deadline, is the hardest thing communication can be asked to do. It takes more than a message. It takes something people remember when it counts.

Meet SHIIFT.

We take safety so seriously we gave it its own brand.

We take safety so seriously we gave it its own brand.

Safety and behavior change outgrew being one service among five. It became SHIIFT Training, our dedicated training brand, built solely for this work. SHIIFT designs custom interactive training your team will remember, from VR and AR simulation to e-learning, induction films and animation, on any hardware, with comprehension data reported straight into your LMS.

The approach is the one that runs through everything Myriad makes. Start with the behavior, not the message. What you need people to do differently, what is stopping them now, and the moment it has to stick. Then build for that moment, not the training room.

Everything we know about changing behavior on live sites lives at SHIIFT, along with far more of the work, from virtual reality to induction and e-learning. A few highlights stay here. The full library is there.

Why Myriad.

We build for the moment of risk, not the training room.

We build for the moment of risk, not the training room.

Behavior change is the hardest brief in communication, and one of the ones we are proudest of. For major operators we have moved the needle on what people actually do, not just what they have seen, because we start from the behavior and the moment, not the deliverable. The measure that matters is on the site, not in the view count.
