The brief.

A breakthrough material means nothing until people can picture it.

Huntsman’s Miralon, a carbon material with properties conventional materials can’t offer, had reached pilot plant scale. The technology needed showing: what Miralon is, how it’s made, and why the pilot plant matters on the road to commercial production.

The opportunity.

A product launch film, for a product most people can’t picture.

Deep technology usually gets explained; we decided Miralon should get launched. That meant treating an industrial material with the confidence of a consumer product: the technology and the people behind it, together, presented so that anyone could grasp what’s been achieved and why it matters. Complicated science, made to feel inevitable rather than impenetrable.

The work.

Cinematic in the lab, forensic in the animation.

We shot with Huntsman’s own people, traditional interviews made untraditional by cinematic lighting that treats scientists the way films treat protagonists. Cut against that: incredibly detailed 3D animation of the plant process itself, giving image and vision to a technology you otherwise can’t imagine. The result plays like a launch film, because that’s what it is: a launch, for a material.

The impact.

A technology that audiences can finally picture, and people they can believe.

The film gives Huntsman a way to introduce Miralon that no data sheet could: the process made visible, the team made human, and an incredibly technical story made clear without being diluted.
